"Harlan Watson Moves to House" by Lourindal

Re Watson, as Tim Flannery noted “For decades both the tobacco and asbestos industries found scientists prepared to be doubtful about discoveries linking their products with cancer. A non-specialist cannot know whether the view being presented is fringe or mainstream thinking, and so we may come to believe that there is a real division in the scientific community on these matters. In the case of asbestos and tobacco, the situation was made worse because cancers often appear years after exposure to carcinogenic products, and no one can say for certain just who, among the many exposed, will be struck down. By creating doubt about the link between their products and cancer, the tobacco and asbestos companies enjoyed decades of fat profits, while millions of people met with terrible deaths.”

"Senate Watch: Bingaman, Boxer, Cardin, Casey, Corker, Dorgan, Graham, Kerry, Landrieu, Lincoln, Murkowski, Nelson, Reid, Sanders, Snowe" by todd Runestad

These obstructionists are out of hand. They say it’s not appropriate to invest in clean technologies or cut pollution when we’re in a down economy. But does anybody really believe that they’ll all of a sudden start pushing for these things when the economy gets going again? Don’t make me laugh.

Even the conservative Supreme Court ruled that the EPA can regulate CO2 as part of the Clean Air Act. Clearly, the EPA came out with its finding to prod Congress to act, which is exactly what most people in America not beholden to the fossil fuel industry, as well as most people in the world, want.

Renewable fuels are the answer, and that includes the new PRISM nuclear power plants that leave waste for only 300 to 500 years, which is a doable time frame. If southern Senators say they don’t have wind or solar resources available to them, they can have all the nuclear plants.

"Research to Improve Water-Use Efficiency and Conservation: Technologies and Practices" by Waste Management

Very interesting, if not a little worrying, report. It’s good to see there are actually states that are already addressing the problem and doing something about it.

The Santa Rosa Subregional Reclamation System seems like it’s doing an amazing job with storage tanks holding 1.45 billion gallons of water! That is a lot of water!

It’s a pretty dire situation but hopefully with reports like this as participation form many of the bigger states; we can get this problem sorted sooner rather than later.

Democrats are voicing opposition to cap and trade because by and large the American people do not want it. It will cause a tremendous amount of economic pain for little to no environmental gain. Make sure your Representatives in Congress follow suit. Write them at <a href="http://tiny.cc/94oQR.</p" rel="nofollow">http://tiny.cc/94oQR.
>
